Indian Railway Exam in Marathi – Allegations had been mounting that local languages were being accorded a secondary status in the railway recruitment process. However, this time the issue escalated significantly, ultimately compelling Central Railway to reverse its decision. Thanks to the aggressive stance adopted by MNS youth leader Amit Thackeray, the Marathi language was finally included in the recruitment process. The chain of events began on March 16, 2026. In the notification issued by Central Railway, candidates were offered only two language options—Hindi and English—for appearing in the examination. The complete exclusion of Marathi—despite the recruitment taking place within Maharashtra—sparked intense resentment among the candidates. This decision, taken without any consideration for the local language, unleashed a barrage of criticism against the railway administration. In response to this matter, the MNS adopted a directly aggressive stance.
रेल्वे भरती प्रक्रियेत स्थानिक भाषांना दुय्यम स्थान दिल्याचा आरोप होत होता. मात्र, यावेळी हा मुद्दा चांगलाच तापला आणि त्यानंतर मध्य रेल्वेला आपला निर्णय बदलावा लागला. मनसेचे युवा नेते अमित ठाकरे यांनी घेतलेल्या आक्रमक भूमिकेमुळे अखेर भरती प्रक्रियेत मराठीचा समावेश करण्यात आला. घडामोडींची सुरुवात 16 मार्च 2026 रोजी झाली. मध्य रेल्वेने जाहीर केलल्या अधिसूचनेत परीक्षा देण्यासाठी फक्त हिंदी आणि इंग्रजी या दोनच भाषांचा पर्याय दिला होता. महाराष्ट्रात भरती होत असतानाही मराठी भाषेला पूर्णपणे वगळण्यात आल्याने उमेदवारांमध्ये तीव्र नाराजी निर्माण झाली. स्थानिक भाषेचा विचार न करता घेतलेल्या या निर्णयामुळे रेल्वे प्रशासनावर टीकेची झोड उठली. या प्रकरणात मनसेने थेट आक्रमक भूमिका घेतली.
अमित ठाकरे यांनी यावर तीव्र प्रतिक्रिया देत मराठी तरुणांवर अन्याय होत असल्याचा आरोप केला. त्यांनी रेल्वे प्रशासनाला जाब विचारत स्पष्ट इशारा दिला की, भरती प्रक्रियेत मराठीचा समावेश केला नाही, तर मनसे आंदोलनाचा मार्ग अवलंबेल. त्यानंतर 16 मार्च रोजी काढलेली अधिसूचना रद्द करण्यात आली. 22 एप्रिल 2026 रोजी नवीन अधिसूचना जाहीर करण्यात आली. या अधिसूचनेत मोठा बदल करत मराठी भाषेचा समावेश करण्यात आला.
